DS's runny nose = raw nose...any advice?

DS has had a runny nose for almost a week. He's on meds for allergies and it has gotten better, but it was so bad for a while that his poor little nose is all red and raw from all the wiping.

Is there anything I can do to make it better? Keep in mind he's only 13 1/2 months old.

If you can keep him from rubbing it and putting his hands in his mouth I would try a little vaseline or neorsporin. I know it make my nose feel better when it's raw like his. Poor little man. I hope he feels better soon.

When my DS was that age, pediatrician recommended a thin film of Vaseline. And I swear by the tissue with lotion for the boys although DH and I can't stand them for ourselves. Haven't had any raw noses since I started breaking those out for colds/allergies.

We did the vaseline last night. I remembered that from when I was younger. I was just wondering if there was anything else. Thanks!

I will have to get some of those tissues...I always use them for me when I have a runny nose! I've been using regular baby wipes with DS, but I'm sure that wetness isn't helping things. I'll have to get some tissue today. Thanks!

The Puffs with Lotion are the solution! My son has chronic allergies and as long as we use the Puffs there is no problem. The minute he goes to school and uses the regular tissue, he is raw within the day.

Use some vaseline or A&D ointment in the meantime to get rid of what is already there.

I don't know why I didn't think of the Puff's with Lotion...I use that for myself!
