DS4 is having surgery today

Poor little guy. :( Sending out good thoughts and prayers for a successful surgery.

This reminds me of when my son was 4. To make a long story short, he tripped over a pallet of games at ToysRUs and ended up getting a huge rusty nail lodged between his eyeball and browbone. I was totally hysterical and yet, I think he handled it better than I did! Kids that age are amaziingly resilient.

Sorry I haven't had a chance to update everyone, but better late then never................

BTW, for the rest of this post (and forever more) I'll refer to my youngest as David. After seeing him handle himself better than I would have, he's no longer a "baby".

I was going to write a descriptive post but...............................
DAVID IS DOING FINE! The surgeon was able (with 99.5% certainty) to successfully reattach everything! Just to keep David from disruptiing the healing of that middle finger, the doctor wrapped his entire hand in a bandage.

David, for one month, is not allowed any bath, pool or sandbox time (to keep the finger away from unnecessary bacteria).

Bottom line, David was allowed to leave the hospital about 3:30p.m. on Thursday. I would have updated you earlier, but after David got out of the hospital I went to work (I work nights) and just woke up from a deep sleep around 12:45pm.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, EVERYONE, FOR YOUR KIND WORDS AND PRAYERS. You have no idea how much it means to me.

THANKS AGAIN!!!!!!!
Dave

What wonderful news! So glad to hear what a trooper he is. Now I have to ask, as I see parents bringing their kids in all the time (I work at Toys R Us) for this reason, is he getting a toy store run?

Piglet........... No, no toy store run. HOWEVER, as soon as the doctor allows, he is getting roller blading lessons (so he can play roller hockey). David is a lot like me, in that the only toys he really likes involve sports.

He also gets my unwavering respect and admiration, and the fact that I will no longer call him "Baby David".... only David.

Dave

That's great news Dave! I'm just so glad to hear that they can reattach and all should be normal in a few weeks.

Your little boy is very brave.

That's great it went well and he is doing ok. Sounds like quite a little trooper!! ::yes:: I hope the healing goes well!

I am so glad to hear David's surgery went well. Glad they were able to save his finger. Hope he has a quick recovery.
