He does, he's always the first one to open up his mouth and defend someone else. He just never did it for himself, that's something that has always irked me.

A person can only take so much mental and physical abuse before they can't take it anymore, some deal with the situation better then others who either take it out on themselves or others. It's scary to stand up to bullies, children and adult ones. I'm impressed by your son! It really takes courage to put yourself out there like he did.

I think its great. He should defend himself. I have told my boys not to start any fights but if someone starts hitting them or whatever I fully expect them to defend themselves.
Im glad you ds had the means to defend himself.
