Realistically now -- What merchandise could the DS carry that you would actually buy?
I know one reason I have read the stores stopped carrying adult merchandise was because everyone waited until it was on sale.
Well -- yeah. I do that with every store! Occasionally I will spend $50 on one piece of clothing if I REALLY love it and will get a lot of use. Otherwise, yes, I generally only buy sale merchandise.
But one reason is because ALL stores generally sell merchandise that is one season ahead anyway! (spring in the dead of winter; summer/late summer in spring....)

I would be buy some parkmerchandise, but not logo t-shirts, sweatshirts. But I would regular park merchandise.

Besides pins, I buy DVD's and CD's in the store now. But they only have so many of those to buy. That selection is limited in the stores.

So, REALLY, what would you buy in a Disney Store?
And CM's -- what is asked for the most, and what do people REALLY buy? (Not what they say they would buy.)

Plush City just needs to go. A little goe a lonnnng way.
I would like to see shirts with small MM head silouettes, more varieties of ADULT socks, underwear. I did also like the sleepwear when they carried that. I bought that (on sale) ;) .
I would always like to see/buy ride/attraction merchandise -- like from HM or PotC. Plus that would create park interest, I would think.
One month have a Fantasyland theme. Another month -- Frontierland! Wouldn't that be FUN? :)

I buy at least 4 pair a year there!!!! And... I always buy my souvenirs at the DS before we go on vacation so we don't have to lug anything back. :p

A smaller version of World of Disney. We have all been there, all spent money there.

I like the adult clothing that has subtle Disney touches. I also would buy pins, DVDs and park related music CD's. I like coffee mugs and the kitchen / bathroom items as well. Refrigerator magnets are another thing I will purchase.

I just wish I had a DS reasonably nearby. I have to travel 3 or more hours to get to a location that has one.

sweats, jackets, pajamas, and antenna toppers or bumper stickers IF they were reasonably priced!

:earseek: You might as well go to WDW or DL, Dbl D. :teeth:

I would love it if they carried more of what they do at WDW. I like a lot of the subtle icons that they have on the clothing down there and they have some really cute things for around the house. I don't care if they sold shirt for rides or not (as I am never one to buy those really) but I do miss a lot of the watches and jewelry they used to sell as well. I guess I am just tired of seeing a store directed mostly at kids and nothing for the adults (the ones who spend the money to begin with)

Pins and adult clothing. And I mean pins they are selling at WDW! They have a neat one coming out shortly that I REALLY want. But being that I'm back in school with minimum income, I won't be making a trip to WDW in the near future. :( But if they sell the pins in TDS, I'd be thrilled! And DS wants some boxers we saw in WDW on our last trip. They're not at TDS.

More variety in adult clothing.

Seems like even when they did have adult clothing and do have adult clothing now, it's either sweatshirts, t-shirts, or sleepwear. I just looked through the recent Disney catalog, and what little men's clothing that is in there is unisex. One picture even showed a woman modeling what was labeled as a men's sweatshirt.

Let's see some denim jackets, polos, dress shirts, and ties.

Less Pooh, more Disney characters.

I'm sorry, but there is way too much of Pooh, Tigger, and friends for me. In fact, they also tend to overuse a lot of their headline characters as well -- Mickey, Grumpy, Tinker Bell, and the princesses. The only time someone different will be spotlighted is when a movie featuring the character is out (such as, Lilo and Stitch). Give some of them a break and let's see Donald, the nephews, Chip & Dale, and other underused characters.

This may sound strange coming from me, but I kind of wish they would cut back on some of the pins. It almost seems like Disney is approaching a "pin overload". Last year, there were lines waiting to get into the Stores for the 12 Years of Dreams series. This year, there are no lines for the Magical Musical Moments series.

Definitely better adult clothing. As in things you could actually wear to work or something. In the catalog over the summer, they had nice polo chirts with a Disney "D" on the left breast for men. It was cool, yet classy. My DH LOVES that shirt. Did they have them in the store. No. Do they still have them? No.

I agree with more Mickey Mouse silhouette stuff.

Also, the womens clothing...design wise I like most of it. But then they stick these character pix on there that make it too...I don't know, just too much that I would want to wear.

I am the one spending the money, I wish the higher ups at TDS would cater to my tastes too.

More jewelry and adult clothing with not so mainstream characters.

I dont have any ideas other than whats been mentioned, but I had to chime in here. I hadnt been to TDS in a while and just stopped in today. After reading the posts here how it had changed I made sure to take note. OMG! You guys were soooo right. The place was filled, literally filled, with costumes! It was awful! Looked like a seasonal store.
My DM had told me she needed a baby outfit for someone at work and she went looking in there for one, but couldnt find one. I thought she meant she couldnt find one she liked, but nope. There was none! Im almost wondering if they plan to close the store after Halloween. :(

I agree that they should have more houseware-type stuff. Like dishes, clocks, cookie holders, and so on.

I'd also like clothes like the ones that they sell in the parks where the characters are less noticable. Ideally they'd carry petite sizes, but that will never happen since their stores are so small. But they could have petites in the catalogue.
