Well, we were there at 6:30 as directed and surgery was underway at 8:08am. They said 30-45 minutes...took almost 2 hours. I was scared to death.
They couldn;t get the whole stone, so they shot it with a laser breaking it into 1 big piece and 1 smaller piece. They got the big piece out with the basket and he will pass the small one.
They left a stent in, but with a string which comes out the "privates" Friday, he is suppose to pull the string to get the stent out (OUCH!!!) Well, they forgot to mention it to him and he went to the bathroom (they make you go there before you can be sent home) and he yelles "Pap-Paw, there is a string coming out of my privates!!" Oh, boy. I think everyone around heard.
Anyway....glad that the big part of the stone is out....hate that the stent is still in, though.

I remember my father coming home a couple years ago with a drainage tube still there! A nurse came out every couple days to check things!
