It is hard to do but I did it. I was explaining the DDP to DS17. I was explaining credits and what he could get with each meal. We are going with friends and their DD17 is going and the 2 plan on ditching us part(well most) of the time.

I handed DS the menus from the TS meals we have scheduled just so he could get an idea of what he could chose from. I told him at each place he can get an appetizer, entree and a dessert. He started reading the menus and (keep in mind this a 17 year old who weighs 225 and plays soccer and basketball) His reply - "Mom I don't think anyone could eat that much food at any one time - Do I have to get it all each time?" needless to say I was speechless. I can't fill him up to save my life but it looks like Disney Dining Plan can.

Well, to be fair, the portion sizes are becoming more reasonable at many of the restaurants, so it may be "just right" in the end.

I've got 3 16year old girls (Girl Scouts) going with me next June and they are so baffled as to what to eat and where. Looks like we will stick with buffets and kids menus. They don't seem to be to adventuress with their meals.

There are 4 of us here now - DNiece (age 10) DNephew (age 8) DH and myself. I originally thought it would be too much food, and we would end up shares. However, for the QS meals, we generally manage to eat all the food (4 credits worth)- even with DNiece getting an adult meal each time. We may end up with about 1/2 a dessert left at the end of a meal, but that's about it. For TS, we also generally eat almost all the food (we'll each leave about 1/2 our desserts). None of us are large people, but I guess all that walking builds up an appetite. We do breakfast in the room (just a bowl of cereal) so we normally eat lunch around 12:30, and dinner around 6:30, and we don't really feel hungry for snacks. So, here we are, 2 days left and 16 snack credits to go, with no idea how to spend them... but at least the TS and QS credits are being used.

Those snack credits are great for items you take home. I just did an adult-only trip and brought home a Rice Krispie Mickey head, a Halloween Rice Krispie treat, and a box of Minnie's cookies for DD. Last time around, DD and I used some credits for drinks to take on the plane, but since that's not an option right now, the treats work. :thumbsup2

At places that arent family style, or buffet, you can use 1 credit to share, and pay OOP for anything extra needed. This will also work at CS. I will likely order a basket or pizzaetc... and a large chicken/ salad, and share w dd, rather than to have 2 mountains of fries in front of us :sad2:
