Ds said he will go back to school ** updated 1st post**

well as some of you might rember my DS 16 give up school last year and has only been doing a part time job in the local filling station
i have been hoping that he would decide to go back to school again
last night he said he would
so just need some that he dose'nt change his mind and goes back and likes it this time

it is the hardest job been a mother to teenagers

Just to let everyone know , he started back last friday and seems really happy , he went back to his old school , he has to halloween to show that he is back to work ,
so thanks everyone for all the good wishes they worked ,

Hi Jackie has your son realised that the grass was not greener on the other side by wanting to quit school and do a dead end job. Well done for him wanting to go back to learning & wish him well for the future.
It does'nt get any easier as they get older and mothers are allowed to worry.

A break is sometimes good. I left at 16 but after a couple of years I went back to college and have since finished uni. That may not have been the case if I carried on straight away.

yes it's difficult being a parent......especially watching them make decisions that we wish they wouldn't.....but sometimes we just have to let them learn about life for themselves....

That's great if he does go back to school. Will he go back to the school he was originally at, or would he feel better going to college to finish his GCSE's ?

Oh that's great news, I remember how upset you were when he quit school, I suppose he needed to see what was out there and then he decided that it's better to get a decent education then get a good job too (not that filling stations aren't good jobs btw) good luck to your DS.
