It is a short arm cast, which we are hoping that will be off when we get to Universal and Disney. My question is, has anyone with an arm cast been on coasters at Disney and Universal? He loves the roller coasters so I'm wondering if we should wait for next year if he can't ride them.

It should not be a problem for WDW - a short arm cast would not interfere with the ability to use the restraint. If there was any difficulty with a restraint fitting, the CM at the attraction would not let him on.

For Universal, they do have a Rider’s Guide with a lot of specific information. Because many of their roller coasters are a bit ‘wilder’ than those at WDW, there may have some more specific guidelines and prohibitions.
THis is a link to the Universal Riders’s Guide which lists the ride requirements.

NOTE: This is their most recent Rider’s Guide, which has not been updated yet to reflect the Harry Potter attractions. I just got the link off their updated website.
