What are some ways DH and I can use his credits.
Things I have thought of are.
eat 2 seated meals a day out of pocket for DS
or book some @ credit places and use them there.
the only problem is we don't want to waste so much time sitting in resturantsa and have all the cs meals left over and we don't really like the two credit places that much. anymore ideas anyone can think of because i am not wasting his credit on a kids meal.

The Dining Plan isn't a good choice for all families. If you aren't inclined towards 2TS restaurants or 2 TS meals per day some days, then you may find that you're better off paying for meals in cash instead of purchasing the Dining Plan and letting a whole set of TS credits go practically unused.

I have heard that many TS places will serve an adult sized serving of a child entree if requested. You could also look through the menus, and pick restaurants with buffets. We really enjoyed those, as kids and adults ate off the same buffet, so there were lots of choices. (My DS8 likes adult food better than the kid choices, and DH ate a fair share of chicken nuggets and mac and cheese!) Another way to use the credits is schedule breakfast buffets for early, eat a CS for lunch, and a late ADR for dinner. Just remember this will take a little more planning as to what you will pay OOP, and what will use credits.

Aside from doing signature dining, I can't think of any other way to make good use of the credits. Maybe the DDP is not the best thing for your family? Lots of TS places have great food, maybe look at the menus online and he may find something that he likes. Or, you could do buffets like Cape May Cafe, 1900 Park Fare, Boma-then he can eat from both the adult and kid sides?

We did the DDP with our ten year old daughter. She still likes her share of mac and cheese but really enjoyed the DDP. Now there were a couple of places that didn't have much she wanted. At those we asked for a kids meal and it was fine at one they gave her a double portion. I have heard reports from others that some places don't do that so willingly. My advice is that if you ask and they say no, ask nicely for a manager. Then have him or her explain why they are unwilling to serve you a cheaper meal for the more expensive price you already paid. Some servers say no initially because I think they are possibly new and don't fully understand the DDP and aren't sure maybe how to ring a child's meal on an adult credit. Thats why you ask for a manager. Disney strives to please. Also, every place we ate at was happy to sub sides for my dd, like fries or a small side salad in lieu of veggies or other things she didn't like. And they also were happy to leave off the sauce or sub a different sauce. For appetizers we often shared since it was so much food.

And I was also surprised at how much our daughter enjoyed the adult meals. She loves steak and got steaks at several places. The buffets worked great and while they are not the "bes"t deal on the DDP they are still a good deal. We ended up being more worried we would have cs credits left over since most every time we at cs we shared three meals for the four of us (son is 12). But in the end we just used our last credits our last night for grab n go sandwiches (came with chips and a cookie or rice Krispy treat) out of the food court at CBR. We had a very nice lunch on the plane the next day!

I have been doing the math and the dining plan is prob. not the best for us this year we have used it twice before and it was great but I think the way we eat we coudl eat one table service a day and one counter service at day and still come out to the good by about 20 after 15% percent tip on table service. I can't believe DS has grown up to adult menu and ruined my pig out in paradise dining plan:rotfl2: I imagine he will grown into the adult dining plan all to soon. His Tastebugs (as he calls them) will mature. Tastebugs is the sweetest thing to hear him say. I don't have the heart to correct it. I will have a grown son one day saying tastebugs.:lmao: :lmao:

maybe this is a no no but since he wants to eat the kids meal could you list him as 9 instead of ten.

Sorry, it is a no no and violates the dis board posting policy to offer suggestions like this which I'm sure you probably didn't know.:)

Well we are back to the dining plan I spoke with my DH and told him we could save 20 a day or more w/o DDP and the next thing I know he is fixing steak with sterno in the room. Just kidding but not far from it.:rotfl2:
We are going to do the dining to save me from his triftiness. It's worth not to deal with him fussing over a soda or snack.
chrismom2005 thanks so much for thinking of us with the suggestion, but we go every year they would wonder how he missed a year of aging.:rotfl2:

Wouldn't it be nice to keep them at that child's price. 2 of my 3 are adult priced and it definitely makes a difference in the amount of money spent.

We are going in August and my DS just recently turned 10. Normally in the past on the DDP, he would order his favorite-Hot Dog. This trip most of our TS's will be used for character breakfast buffets. We will then use the CS's for dinner. There will be a couple of places that I know he will eat dinner like Mama Melrose-likes pasta. I still think we will come out ahead again with the DDP as in the past.
