DD went to school on crutches in 1st grade...and second grade..and I believe 4th grade
Trust me they find a way!
The teachers chair is on wheels and they ended up pushing her up and down the hall to the bathroom etc.
Later the teacher told us it was a great social lesson for all the kids.
If it's a public school I don't see how they can possibly keep him out.

I won't let my kids on a trampoline as I have heard too many horror stories.
Remember that children's wheelchairs are smaller than adult wheelchairs. We had a child at our school in one and it went through a regular door.
I hope everything is ok for his and your sake.

Update--
The orthopedist does not think it is broken, but wants us to come back in a week if he is still miserable. He seemed on the upswing last night--the dr. said give him warm baths and try to get him to straighten in the tub. While he slept last night it got almost straight a few times. But when he woke up he drew it right back up to his body.
Another issue is his medicine--the dr. said to switch to regular tylenol or motrin because too much codeine can constipate--too late--so last night I was carrying him between the tub and the toilet! Nothing would come out, so back to the tub--where the warm water would make him think it would be coming out--back to the toilet--you get the picture.
Thanks for all the support. We'll do our best to get through this week.

D started kindergarten in a wheelchair 15 years ago. He broke his leg in a biking accident. He had a "child size" wheelchair and we had no problems fitting it through any door, even at home. If he will be in a cast, check with a medical supply rental place, I am sure you can get a small wheelchair and then he could start school with the rest of is clasmates.
