Drying clothes in a 1 bedroom villa without using the dryer

It’s been many years since we used the washer in a 1 bedroom villa but we’ve got a long trip coming up and it’ll help cut down on how much we need to bring.

We’re staying at Beach Club Villas. Can someone remind me please of what options we have to dry clothes that can’t go in the drier? Is there a line anywhere?

Thank you!

Most bathrooms have an expandable laundry line in the shower/tub area.

I bring plastic hangers $1.25/12 $ store. Lay out a towel and roll your garment in it tightly to absorb water before you hang it up. I pull out the ironing board and hang the garment (on a hanger) from the board and put the ceiling fan on to circulate air. They dry quickly!

I use this strategy with DH's growing collection of Tommy Bahama Disney shirts!

Is there a tub/shower in the one bedroom? There isn’t at Boardwalk, just a shower and separate jacuzzi tub....I’ve never noticed one of those retraction lines. I use the clip hangars in the closet and hang from the closet pole . Or the back of the chair on the deck if it’s covered.

I bring extra plastic hangers too. I hang in the retractable line in the tub. Since you can only put one or two - they all come to the middle. If they touch, it will take longer for them to dry. So I hang some more in the closet (pushing dry clothes away). We wash often and don't need more space but If we really need more, I can also use my golf umbrella - I get two chairs and space them apart so I can put the ends of the umbrella on top of each chair - creating another closet rod. When we get home after our vacations, I have too many to hang in my normal spot. I use a broom stick and two chairs.

I second this tip. Hanging the clothes with the ceiling fan blowing on them dried stuff pretty well. I've found that there just isn't enough air circulation in the bathroom and stuff hanging from the retractable clothes line never seems to dry.

I personally use the retractable line in the shower, but I have seen plenty of people drying stuff on the balcony (just hung over the chairs).

Thank you all for this thread!! Travel hangers never occurred to me, but I cannot machine dry my shirts. I wear 150 Sport Smartwool (which is a 50/50 Poly-Wool blend). The dryer will destroy that stuff.

Hang (unless it's a nice big hanger, I don't like the "hooks" on the shoulders/more ironing time) or dry flat - place a towel underneath the sweater

We just stayed in a 1 BR and BCV last month and our shower did not have the retractable clothesline in it. I saw many people drying their clothes on their balconies outside, but I’m always afraid that bugs a going to get in the clothes and then I’ll bring my buggy clothes/towels inside :charac4:
