Drunks @ Food & Wine Festival?

Love the F&W events-my 8th year and so does my 14 yo DD.
I love Disney but the main reason is this event. There might be
drunks in the crowd anywhere there is booze there are always
some drunks, but we are there in Epcot alot and have never
noticed nor have ever been bothered. Anyone doing any events
the last two weeks? Lunches or such

Bracho, I am a paraplegic thanks to a drunk driver so I don't deal with them well either.

One more note on this subject. It must not be a problem as with all the lawsuits and such I am sure Disney would shut this down if people were causing problems for other guests. Instead the F&W fest has increased in length of time.

We've been to F&W festival nearly every year since it began and we've never seen anyone being obnoxious because they were drunk. These trips usually last 7-10 days and we spend a good portion of that time at Epcot.

Maybe I just don't pay attention?

As for throwing up... keep in mind that being sick does NOT mean the person is drunk. (I see kids throw up all the time at Disney, let's hope they are not drunk LOL!)

Oh he was quite drunk and so were his companions:)

I think the worst problem is people carrying drinks around when it is very crowded. I've had beer sloshed on me a couple of times. As the evening wears on, people get a little less coordinated. Those yards of ale can be pretty hard to control!

Just got done talking with a friend and told him we were going to WDW during the F&W fest. I was somewhat surprised at his response. Never again would he take his family during this event as the park was full of drunks! His point was especially on the week-ends where (according to him) all these young kids (young but old enough to drink legally) are there, probably locals, who overindulge and get out of control...cursing and loud obnoxious behavior. He said it just about ruined his trip.

I was surprised in that I had been there and while I must admit I did see a few people like those he described I would say it was rare and we certainly didn't encounter anyone who was causing a problem.

I started thinking though, am I maybe not seeing what is really going on? I honestly did not see this as a problem but was wondering if others could chime in on this subject.

Specifically did you encounter any problems with people (of any age) overindulging?

(I should add that my friend is no tea-tottler and indulges in alcoholic beverages himself, as does his wife. I also believe that he is realistic in that I am sure he expected to see a few people maybe go overboard but again I was surprised by his response)

We didn't encounter any "drunks" when we were there last year.
