Well, we're in major drought in Jersey. No watering of lawns, period. Watering of flower and vegetable beds even/odd days and no watering at all on the weekends.

My garden is a natural disaster. I'm thinking about filling my bathtub, taking a bath and emptying the water into my garden. Reuse, recycle, etc., etc., etc......

Anyone out there having a good growing summer????

I just look at my backyard and want to cry......:(

Half my lawn is burnt to a crisp. But most of my containers are okay and you saw my hydrangea. That's still doing good.

:bounce:   :bounce:  :smooth: :bounce:   :bounce:

The above is my feeble attempt at a rain dance for you, Gina. Hope it works.

This season hasn't been great. First we had a couple of nights of late frost in the spring, and then what seems like weeks and weeks of very hot, dry weather. We have had rain in the last 2 weeks, but it's as if it's too late.

Like Tulirose, my containers are doing okay, but a lot of other plants have suffered. I have some pictures I hope to get downloaded tonight.

It's funny, but my best plants right now, besides the black-eyed susans, are two new perennials, my coneflower and my "David" phlox. Maybe it's because I'm babying them right now, I don't know....

As Scarlet might say.........Next year is another gardening season!! ;) :)

Gina I'm having the same problem. My yard is a disaster. I'm pulling up annuals this weekend. I can't stand looking at them anymore.

They are pitiful. Small, not quite green and have very flowers on them. The perennials I'll leave and hope for the best. Even my hosta are small and have very little color. I have some that are 4 feel tall with beautiful colors. This year they stopped growing at 2 feet and have a washed out faded look about them.
My front yard is fried. I'm sure I'm going to lose most of the plants. I have some red and yellow twig dogwoods that I know won't make it. Never even picked a rasberry. The berries shriveled up and dried on the bushes, now the plants are withering away.

Going to have to plan a new attack for the front next year.

No, nothing looks very nice...EXCEPT my neighbors lawn. Why do they think an irrigation system excludes them from saving water!
