My google search of this topic has yielded mixed answers to this question. Is it possible for a car to drop off passengers at parks without paying for parking? I do understand that you aren't able to drive right up to the gates of Magic Kingdom, but could I drop off passengers at the ticketing areas of the different theme parks without paying the parking fee?

1- Yes.
2- Yes.

There are guest drop-offs at all of the theme parks.
(The MK's is at TTC.)

Just tell the parking gate attendant that you're going to drop off/pick up guests and
the attendant will explain the location.

BTW-
A closer alternative to MK's TTC drop off would be to drive to the Contemporary Resort to drop off,
and the guests could easily walk to MK's gates.

There are drop off areas for the parks, but for the MK you should drop them off at the Contemporary since its drop off area is at the TTC across the lake and then they would have take the ferry or monorail to the front gates.

Also for Epcot you can drop then off at one of the Boardwalk resorts and they then could walk in through the back.

Sorry for digging up this old thread. Can someone tell me where exactly the passage drop off area @ Disney Hollywood Studios? I know DHS has two enterances, which one should we use to get there? Which one is closest to Broadwalk? :confused3

As far as I know, Epcot is the only park with two entrances.

Though there are two "transportation paths" to get to DHS.

One is the normal park and then tram to the entrance and one is to walk from the boardwalk area resorts to the same entrance as above using the path that connects DHS with Epcot.

Where exactly are you coming from?

I was dropped off at Epcot. My driver took me to Boardwalk and dropped me off and picked me up that night at the same location.

It's much easier to go to the resort that time. At MK there is the one at TTC if they want to ride the monorail or the ferry.

There are two entrances to DHS, in that there are two ways to drive through toll plazas. One is a large plaza, the other is a smaller one with only one or two booths. I think that's what that other poster was referring to.

And if that is the case, it's 6 of one, half dozen of the other which toll plaza you go through.

Yea I now remember that.

But TLPL, if you want to be dropped off at the Boardwalk just drive directly there. I see it as a lot less hassle.

Ok here is my story: we are going on DCL on a Saturday, we are staying at BWV the night before. Saturday morning has EMH at DHS so I am thinking to take the kid to go for an hour or two before we drive our rental car to the port. My plan is to let DH stay at the resort, sleep in a little bit, pack up, check out and pick us up at the park. So I want to find out the best way to do this.

If you are staying at BWV you can walk to DHS or take the boat. The walk is not far and would be faster than dropping off at the gate

But I think the OP is asking about when they leave the park so really a pickup not drop off.

Not sure which is quicker, there is a toll entrance (the smaller one) right near the boardwalk, but not sure if its quicker for you just to leave and walk back to the resort area and have him pick up up there.

One thing I think I have read though and you should check it out on the cruise boards is that you shouldn't stick around WDW too long since there can be delays getting to the boat, returning your car and getting checked in.

Oh I know, but I really really want To go for a few spans on RnR and ToT before leaving. DH and kid will arrive a few days early to enjoy the parks, but I am short on vacation time off work I can only fly down Friday night before cruise Saturday. When I saw they have EMH that Saturday morning, the wheels in my head started turning.....
If we get there by rope drop, we should have no problem walk on to those two rides, right?

what is the difference in time between riding the boat at the regular ttc and walking from the Contemporary?

The boat requires a lengthy loading and unloading procedure.
That can vary the time the trip takes, depending on, well, everything.
Figure 15 minutes as a ballpark time.

The walk to/from the Contemporary and MK takes about 8-10 min.
