Dropping off family members to go to the MK

Hi, We're staying offsite in a condo and the last day of our trip, two in our party have reservations for the MK and the rest have reservations for Epcot (splitting up that day, but just one rental car). Rather than the two going to the MK doing uber/lyft (although that is a possibility too), I was going to drop them off at the MK. In the past, I would have gone to the Contemporary and dropped them off at the walkway, but I hear that is not an option now for uber/lyft, so I'm guessing that's not an option for a private person either? Where would you recommend that I go to drop them off now? Is my best bet to take them over to the ticket and transportation center? Or might it be better to go over to one of the MK resorts (and if so which one) and have them use Disney transportation from one of those (monorail or boats)? Thanks so much.

At Epcot we will go to the regular parking area and do handicapped parking (will be with my dad in his 80s who has a handicapped sticker and will be renting an ECV at Epcot in the park for him). Planning on doing rope drop at both places, but more important for the MK folks due to all the rides they are doing. For the group going to Epcot this will be our second of two days at that park, so it's a little more of a laid back kind of day and there will be quite a few headliner rides we'll be skipping. That means for the Epcot folks being there right at rope drop (while nice) isn't quite as important.

I thought the new flyover took care of needing to go through the MK parking lot entrance to drop off. Is the guest drop off on Seven Seas no longer available?

If it is, then take the flyover on the left and turn left on Seven Seas, at the light, and the guest drop off just on the right. I know that the non-WDW shuttles drop off here was well, but I know I saw private vehicles doing drop offs here the last time I drove across Seven Seas.

The actual designated drop-off/pick-up spot for MK is at TTC.
Just ask to be directed there when you drive through the MK parking lot entrance gate (no charge.)
Actually, you don't go through the MK parking lot gates to get to the TTC drop-off location any longer. The parking entrance only goes to the parking lot.

Instead, bear left as you approach the split where the parking toll plaza is (follow signs for the MK hotels) and then take a left at the lights. Then an immediate right into the drop off area.

If only @Robo had a map that showed this. :duck:

Now I am wondering about this. If you take an uber or lyft do they not go through the tolls like the cars that are parking there?

At MK, they do not.

Transportation at hotels is for Disney hotel guests. Your offsite so please don’t make the people who paid to stay on-site be inconvenienced by adding people for the wait. It’s just rude. If you want to use hotel transportation stay onsite. Take Uber to TTC.

Just did this two days ago. Since there are no trams running, any mobility issues are even worse than normal. I stayed in the left lane approaching the flyover and went to the TTC to drop my wife off, then circled around and once on the exit road out, there is a turnaround to return to the MK and then you go through the auto plaza and into the main parking lot.

Very similar at the Studios and AK. Epcot, however does not have a re-entry turn to get back to the auto plaza (unlesss I missed it). Had to go out the exit and all the way down to the Old Key West exit and loop around to re-enter. Hope the trams return soon.

As an addition to my post above, yesterday I found the Epcot “return to park” route!! Upon exiting the parking lot, take the right lane and follow the exit to the Magic Kingdom. That will put you on a road that goes alongside the auto parking booths. Stay in the left and there is a “return to Epcot” left turn!!

AK and HS have the easiest as you do not have to exit the parking area after dropping someone off in order to then park your car.

All Disney transportation is available to all Disney guests, regardless of whether they sleep on Disney property or not.

Last Sunday we were there for a cheer event at ESPN WWofS. My DIL and her friends were going to meet my DS at MK between the cheer events. I have a car and I dropped them off at the gate to CR, I told gatekeeper what I was doing, she said sure, they got out and took the walkway to the park. No problem.

@malialaine the guard gates are more flexible during the slower periods of day. They tend to be very inflexible for early morning to reduce long lines of cars and congestion.

Dave
This was not early morning but approximately noon on a Sunday, with 15000 cheerleaders and friends, just explaining it, any guard would let you do it, plus I still have to turn around and could let them out.
