I'm trying to decide on a TS restaurant in Epcot for us. We're going two days, and one of the days we'll eat at Biergarten. We're booked at Via Napoli the second day, but I'm just not crazy about the menu.:confused3

I'm sure it's just me, because it seems as if everyone raves about VN. I'm considering Coral Reef (love seafood!), Teppan Edo (never done teppanyaki before) or keeping Via Napoli. Recommendations?

FWIW, we're eating at Mama Melrose for lunch at HS.....

Via Napoli has amazing pizza, and their other entrees are good as well. We did not try it our first few trips, but now it is a must do. I will say if you are on the dining plan it may not be the best choice. You can't order a larger size pizza and share. We have a really good teppanyaki place that recently opened near home, so we don't really go to Teppan Edo anymore. We have been in the past, and if you have never been to that type of restaurant, it is a lot of fun and the food is very good. I would not switch for Coral Reef, I think the food at the other two is much better.

I'm not a pizza fan at all but OMG! Their pizza is amazing. Definitely keep it!!

Food-wise, I think Coral Reef and Teppan Edo are similar quality, but I love sitting next to the aquarium more. Plus, I'm not a fan of Teppan because you come out smelling like your food. :P

Are you on the dining plan? If so, I would make the ADR for lunch and share a pizza. VIA Napoli is not known for being a good value on the plan. I have had dinner at both Coral Reef and Teppan Edo. CR is hit or miss IMO, but I would not steer anyone away because it really is a fun experience. Teppan Edo is a fun meal as well, and if you have never been I think it would be a good choice as well.

I'd say via Napoli has good pizza. My only real issue is the noise. It can get quite loud and busy. However, that usually doesn't stop us from going. I was going to suggest Il Mulino, but I see you're already going to MM. We love Il Mulino and the limoncello afterwards!

For Italian, I would drop MM at HS(50s PTC IMO is way better)and keep Via Napoli. I dont like It. Sausage, but theirs on the Picccante Pizza is very good.

LUV VIA NAPOLI. We ate there twice during our spring break trip this year. :)

We love Via Napoli and go most trips. That said, if the menu doesn't appeal to you I would change. We are all different. We love Teppan Edo, That would be my choice.

We love the pizza at Via Napoli and go (at least once) every trip. I agree that it may not be the best value on the DDP. This trip we're planning to pay OOP. We've also enjoyed Teppan Edo. In our experience there, the service outshines the food. The people there were wonderful! I'd vote stay with VN and if you go, try their gelato frizzante for dessert- it's addictive!

I'd drop Mamma Melrose for Via Napoli to be honest. Via has AMAZING food!!!!!!!!!!!! The pizza is outstanding! And the candele pasta dish, OH MY GOODNESS! TOO GOOD! :goodvibes

Teppan Edo has good food and its a lot of fun. But i'd choose Via over Teppan. And no, I wouldnt consider Coral Reef.

Via Napoli is worth sticking with. After having 10 days worth of meals planned, year after year, Via Napoli is one of the better dining experiences. It does get noisy in the restaurant, but the pizza/food is worth it. Mama Melrose is just okay...I would definitely drop that one.

I'm voting for Teppan Edo if you've never done it before. Nice portions, good interaction with folks, great atmosphere.

We had a horrible experience at Via Napoli last time (our one and only time eating there). My husband and I ordered a pizza to share and 1 kids entrée. Well the server brought the kiddo meal and we sat there for an hour, not exaggerating. It was noisy, we were in the back near the kitchen, and no one came back to check on us. When I finally couldn't keep my cool any longer I went across the restaurant and got a manager. Turns out the waiter never put in our pizza order with the kitchen. They apologized, refilled our drinks, and within 10 minutes we had a complimentary pizza at our table.

All that said, we have a reservation here for our November trip. The food was really good, when the manager learned of our situation he handled it well and very professionally. You can get an off waiter anywhere, the fact that they effortlessly took care of us when they were made aware means we will give it a second chance. Looking forward to it!

Via Napoli was our favorite restaurant of our trip. We had the pizza and ds had a kids pasta dish- but he really loved their pizza. We loved it & can't wait to go back on our Nov trip :) I'm sure you'll enjoy wherever you choose - Have a great trip!!pixiedust:

We had VN for the first time last trip and it was really good. I would not skip it..

Via Napoli is amazing! We ate there 3 times on our last trip. Even if you're not a big pizza fan, you've got to try it! It's not like anything I've had before, very different. We also get the salad which is so good as well! I agree about skipping Mama Melrose, yuk!

Via Napoli is on my list for our January trip and its actually the one I am the most excited about! I can't wait to try that pizza! And do not forget there are some seriously cute Italian waiters/waitresses there for some eye candy while filling your tummies. That is a win/win in my book!
