Drop Via Napoli?

We had a horrible experience at Via Napoli last time (our one and only time eating there). My husband and I ordered a pizza to share and 1 kids entrée. Well the server brought the kiddo meal and we sat there for an hour, not exaggerating. It was noisy, we were in the back near the kitchen, and no one came back to check on us. When I finally couldn't keep my cool any longer I went across the restaurant and got a manager. Turns out the waiter never put in our pizza order with the kitchen. They apologized, refilled our drinks, and within 10 minutes we had a complimentary pizza at our table.

All that said, we have a reservation here for our November trip. The food was really good, when the manager learned of our situation he handled it well and very professionally. You can get an off waiter anywhere, the fact that they effortlessly took care of us when they were made aware means we will give it a second chance. Looking forward to it!
You waited an hour? Youre VERY patient. I wouldnt have waited that long. :lmao:

Via Napoli is on my list for our January trip and its actually the one I am the most excited about! I can't wait to try that pizza! And do not forget there are some seriously cute Italian waiters/waitresses there for some eye candy while filling your tummies. That is a win/win in my book!

Its amazing !!! Keep it !!!!

Never had a problem with Via Napoli. Nice restaurant and great food.

Wow....so it appears the pizza is fabulous! :rotfl2:

I shared the all-ears menus with my hubby, and he didn't seem too impressed with the Coral Reef one either.

Thank you all for your opinions....sounds like we should keep Via Napoli! The pizza choices are a bit *odd* for us plain old pepperoni lovers, but I am a big pasta fan!

We are on the dining plan, but I haven't really looked at meal costs. I just want to eat something good:thumbsup2. Appreciate everyone's comments!

They have a pepperoni pizza. Some of the others are way strange. I plan on doing the sausage one personally (DD13 doesn't like pepperoni or we would just do that one).

If your on the dining plan you can only order a regular meal or an individual pizza per person. They will NOT allow you to share the pizza.

It's just pizza. All this 'amazing!' stuff is going to make you feel dumb when you go there and realize that.

What about La Hacienda?

Teppan Edo is fine but the portions are not big.

I disagree - I found the pizza to be some of the best I've ever had, second only to homemade from-scratch (including the dough) pizza. The quattro formaggi is awesome!!!

My whole family really likes Via Napoli but it is one of those restaurants that we don't do every trip because we like other restaurants in Epcot too. Since we like so many different restaurants in Epcot, we do a sort of rotation for each of our trips, that way there we aren't eating at the same restaurants over and over again. However when I do make an ADR there, everyone is happy that I did, it's almost like they are happier with me making the Via Napoli ADR then any of the other ADRs that I make in Epcot. We really like the pizzas there, they are amazing and I love the Arancini appetizer and the Zeppoles for dessert. Luckily it is Via Napoli's turn in the rotation for our October trip and we all can't wait to go back :goodvibes.

OP, if you don't think that you would like the menu at Via Napoli, then I would highly suggest going to Teppan Edo. That is my DH's favorite Epcot restaurant (another one on our rotation list), he loves everything about the restaurant. To me and the kids we think it is o.k., we go to make him happy....I would rather go to Via Napoli or Biergarten instead. As for Coral Reef, we are all Seafood lovers too but we don't care for this restaurant. I knows others will disagree with me, but we have dined there 3 times and after our 1st time there, it just wasn't the same. Our first experience there it was awesome, we loved everything about it, but the second and third time that we dined there the service and food seemed to drastically go down hill.

While I agree that VN is some of the best consistently good food at WDW, I do not get all of the raves. I live in a very small Midwestern metro area and can get comparable pizza. Any wood fired pizza shop with great ingredients makes similar pizza. So while I enjoy it, and eat there occasionally, I don't find it to be a must-do.

Via Napoli is a favorite for us. While we rotate many other restaurants, this place is a must every trip! Pepperoni pizza, spaghetti with meatballs, and the calamari appetizer are all the best!

We love Via Napoli too, but we also love Teppan Edo! If the menu at Via Napoli doesn't appeal to you, I would give Teppan Edo a shot, for both the experience and the food. One awesome thing about Teppan Edo for us is that it's not a heavy junk filled meal, I alays feel great when I leave, not that overly stuffed full gross feeling - until I get to the patisserie for dessert...:rolleyes1

I live in NJ so there is a lot of really good pizza on every block in town. I guess it might be more noteworthy if you're coming from the midwest. We once ordered a pizza in KY and it was made on a boboli crust with Kraft green can parmesan on top as the cheese. I am not kidding.

We watched them make it and our heads were just about exploding.

I love Via Napoli, but I wouldn't keep a reservation that you aren't interested in the menu. If you find things you would like to try - I say keep it. It's really delicious. But I wouldn't keep it just to have a reservation there if you aren't that interested in the food.

You cannot go wrong with either Via Napoli or Teppan Edo- they are both of my World Showcase favorites! The great thing about VN is that you can get something other than pizza if you are in the mood for a nice pasta dish and the portions are big. I had the individual Piccante Pizza last year and loved it!! We have great pizza here in NJ, and I still thought it was better than the pizza back home! Teppan Edo is a great experience.. The food is delicious! I always get the Asakusa (steak and shrimp). You will enjoy either of these restaurants.
