Droid Building Logistics

These are probably silly questions but I sometimes get a lot of anxiety walking into situations where I’m not sure how things run so I thought I’d ask here to try to alleviate some of that on my trip.
I don’t know what to expect when it comes to the layout of the experience with the shop portion and building portion of the location. If I wanted some of the items to customize my droid (for example I know I want to buy a personality chip and the accessory panel pieces that snap in and not use the included blue/white/red options) is this something I can/should pick up BEFORE my droid building time slot and attach while I’m putting it together? I’m assuming (but don’t know) that I pay for my droid building experience beforehand when I arrive, should I allow myself time to shop for the add-ons before my reservation? Or is it set up more for building a droid with parts that are included and then you put in the add-ons yourself outside of the depot?

You can buy any of the personality chips before, during (while paying), or after building a droid. The cast member who is processing your payment will ask if you want a chip or a bag with the purchase of the droid. If you go in ahead of time there is someone near the chips that will let you see how they sound in the droid they're carrying, which is much nicer than the board that was on the wall (and may still be there).

I'm pretty sure the accessories (serving tray, boosters, etc.) are meant to be purchased later since they're not used during the assembly portion of the build.

The way it works when you're get to your time is this:
1) Walk to the person at the front of the line to the register and tell them your name
2) Proceed to the register (passing a wall with the parts/colors available that day on the wall to the left)
3) Pay (including a bag or chip if you want)
4) You then get a basket and move to the conveyer belt. Either the cashier or another cast member will ask you what type of droid you want (R, C, or BB series) and will hand you a layout of parts you'll need
5) Select all of your parts (take your time to look for whatever you want) and put them in your basket
6) Get in a line to wait for the next available assembler (or skip if there's an open slot)
7) Go to the assembly bay and build/test your droid and then you're done!

I hope you enjoy the process and your droid! I've found the BB-units are a bit of a pain since they're heads come off easily, but they're fun to drive. I also prefer the R-series over the C-series, but that's due to the lack of color options for the C-series right now.
