Driving tomorrow: St Louis - aorlando

I am driving down from St. Louis (Ballwin) in the morning. Any tips, suggestions or warnings? planned on heading 270 South to 255 E to 64 E to I-57 S....etc. Hope there are no closures along the way leaving St. Louis.

The question is...drive through Atlanta or take the bypass? PLEASE chime in about that question ;-)

I am doing the same except coming from mid mo in two weeks. Let us know if you ran into any problems.

What I have read says not to bypass Atlanta and take the HOV lane

Go through Atlanta, but avoid rush hour. We ran into a major tie-up in Chattanooga at 5:00 (4:00 Central, but the Eastern time zone kicks in right there) oddly enough. There's a nasty hill headed East out of Chattanooga just before you hit I75 & the tractor trailers struggled on it. Combined with rush hour traffic (who knew Chattanooga even had "rush hour"????), we lost almost an hour there.

Chattanooga was actually the only place we hit delays! Drove right through Atlanta with no problem.

MOEMT- That is exactly what I have done the last two times, but my driving directions always direct me to the bypass. The HOV lane seems to be the best route so far.
