Driving to WDW from Ohio?

Hey! With airfare so high, my fiance and I have decided that we'd rather drive down to POFQ from Cleveland.

For those of you with similair drives. How is it? Any places you recommend we stay at on the way down? It's our honeymoon so we're going to take it easy and have a fun road trip. We know once we have kids we'll be driving all the time so this way we can get used to the route without kids.

We drove a similar trip 2 easters ago from Detroit. I would suggest taking 75 down to Florida and getting on I-4 west to Orlando. On the way down, stay at the Hampton Inn outside of Athens, TN. Also on the way back if you need a room for the night, stay at the Country Inn and Suites in Dalton, GA about 40 miles north of Atlanta. Have a good Honeymoon!

Have you checked air fares recently? They have dropped a lot! I was finding round trips for $89! It would be easier for you to drive to say Youngstown and leave your car there and fly Vacation Express to Orlando ($69 one way) or even try out of Akron Canton or Pittsburgh.

We used to always drive it but the last two years we have flown and it is so nice. We still allow one day each way just to travel and get settled in at the resorts and then spend the evenings getting dinner and checking out all the free things to do and see.

If you decide to drive, take your time and allow yourself the luxury of seeing some of the sights along the way! Take plenty of snacks for the car and we always travel with a small cooler and a thermos of coffee! Don't speed even though those around you will! People go way too fast and never seem to get caught and the one time you go over the speed limit with out of state plates they will find you!

with gas hitting around $2.00 a gallon here (Dayton)in the near future....we said forget driving....will be soooo expensive....and the wear and tear on our vehicle and time isn't worth it to us...

we will be flying...(airfares are going down actually)
