Anyone drive to WDW with a person that requires oxygen 24/7?? We will be driving down 95 the end of October with my Step Dad and will need to stop to spend the night on the way down and back home. We will be taking his machine from home and can plug it in the hotel, but my question is where do you stop to refill his portable????

I would suggest either asking his current supplier for a referral to a company along your way, or probably the better idea is renting a second portable canister for the trip down and back. It would be terrible to be stuck in a traffic jam and have him running low on oxygen.

You might also look at the power requirements of his machine and check with an auto or electric supply company to get an inverter which can plug into the car's 12 volt outlet (such as for the lighter) and convert to 110VAC. Make sure it would have the capacity for the machine. Also, the manufacturer might have an adapter for the machine so it can be plugged into a car.

Im on oxygen 24/7 and I have a machine I plug in and use all nite, but mine has a second part to it that fills my bottles. At first they gave me those large tanks on wheels and I told them no way was i going to wheel that around with my heart condition. They then showed me this operation with a conserver on it and the bottles can be refilled anytime iwant, so maybe you should ask your provider about it. I'm going to Disney in Feb and taking it along.
