My fiance and I are spending our honeymoon at Disney and he wanted to take me to the ocean while we were there. We were planning on renting a car there in Orlando and driving to the ocean. Which beach at the ocean is the best for newlywed couples, meaning which one is beautiful, but not so crowded. I was looking at Daytona (I think it's by the ocean ?), but I think that one is very popular.

Vero Beach is nice it is on the Atlantic and Disney has a hotel there as well.

From Mouse savers:

Disney's Vero Beach Resort
To reserve a room at Disney's Vero Beach, call (407) 939-7775 or contact a travel agent.

Birnbaum's Walt Disney World 2006 has a coupon in the back good for:

10% off accommodations when arriving most nights 2/2/06-4/1/05
20% off accommodations when arriving most nights 1/1/06-2/1/05, 4/23/06-5/26/06, 5/30/06-6/29/06, 7/5/06-8/31/06, 9/5/06-11/22/06 or 11/27/06-12/19/06
Birnbaum coupon excludes Beach Cottages. Minimum length-of-stay requirements may apply. When reserving, ask for the Birnbaum Offer.

Restaurant & Attraction Coupons & Links

If you plan to eat out while at Vero Beach, you may want to print out some coupons for local restaurants. One source I found is TreasureCoast CouponBook.com, which has coupons from four local newspapers for area restaurants as well as local attractions.

The Indian River County Chamber of Commerce has a good web site with links to many entertainment, arts and dining options in and around Vero Beach.

MouseSavers.com reader Meryl S reports at the Vero Beach resort "there is a complete book of restaurants and menus (with directions) in the lobby near the concierge desk. It is very helpful and none of the restaurants are very far. Having been there twice, I can tell you that the food at the resort is fair, but some of the restaurants we went to (after finding the book) were very good."

Vero is nice, but there are plenty of nice beaches closer to Disney.

Yes, Daytona is popular as is Cocoa Beach, but they are nice beaches. There is also Melbourne Beach, Indialantic Beach, Satalitte Beach, Paradise Beach and many more just south of Cocoa Beach on A1A.

Gulf coast beaches are also very nice. The beach in St Pete (2 hours from Disney) is fantastic.

Daytona is one of my favorites but it's not romantic.
