Hi Going in nov. we are suppose to fly but thinking of driving has any one driven from winnipeg and how long does it take thanks .

Hi misty: Not sure about Winnipeg but I can tell you that it is about 21 hours from Detroit. We live about 45 minutes from Detroit and drive straight through with 2 drivers. We have found that it is best for us to come home from work, sleep until 1 or 2 am then get up and drive then we are there that evening. We have teens and they stay up to get us up, then sleep in the car until 10:00 am or so, making the drive much shorter for them. We have also left around noon, but then of course arrived around 10:00 am the next day and were unable to check into our hotel until late afternoon.

Hey misty- try doing a search on this board, I have asked that exact question on this board a while back and am also from Winnipeg!! I believe that the trip would be in the 30+ hour range. My dad is a truck driver and said that if we left here on a friday we would be there by sunday no problem. I guess how long you take to get there would depend on the number of drivers and stops that you make. I have also considered driving down for our next trip due to the cost of flying.

My cousin lives in Winnipeg and to fly from Toronto to there is the same time as flying Detroit to Orlando so given that it would be roughly 4000K to drive from there to Orlando my dad and I drove it in about 18 or so hours from London Ontario in 99. it really isn't that bad a drive from soutwestern Ontario not to sure from Winnipeg though. Although if you are used to driving the ring road around that city driving to Disney should be a breeze hehehe. I was just there in June for my cousins wedding my first and last trip to Winterpeg I left TO in 28 degree weather and steped off the plane in about 8 degree weather wearing shorts and a t shirt. I love winter but not in June and July hehehe. Anyhow you should be able to make the drive in about 2 days give or take a few hours. Enjoy it it should be quite nice.
