Driving time from the keys... have dinner ADR

Everyone, thanks for the input! Willing to hear any other suggestions you have related to activities.

I believe we're going to do parasailing in the keys and take the jet ski trip around Key West.

Still vascilating if we want to turn that into a half day on the water with those big inflatables.

Thoughts?

We don't have opportunities to do big water toys in our area so I think my DD16 is interested in those. I know those outings don't take the net ski around the island. Are we missing anything?

Sorry to hijack your thread! This has made me wonder. We have 3 kids who will be 6, 4 and almost 2 and we are travelling in Nov. Our plan right now is to have 2 weeks at DL (with FD) then 2 days at BG and 1 at SW, so we have a package booking and a room only booking at WDW. I am now considering changing our plans to drive down to Key Largo for 2 nights. This would mean dropping either 2 Disney days (we have 10 day tickets plus 2 parties) to fit in SW/BG earlier in the trip or drop SW/BG (which we do really love both).
This is our 4th WDW trip.
Those of you who have hit the keys before-do you think it is worth it with 3 young kids? Or do you think it is better to stick in Orlando?
To me, Key Largo wouldn't be worth the trip. It's not really representative of what the Keys are like. Id prefer to take 4 days and head further down to Islamorada or Marathon, and take a day trip to key west from there.
Yes 6 hours is more than enough time. I'm in south Florida. It takes us 3 1/2 hours to get there.
From where to where? Under good conditions Key Largo to WDW is 4.5 hours. I'd factor in plenty of extra time anywhere further down the Keys. We go to Marathon regularly and always give ourselves plenty of breathing room. It once took us 7 hours to go from Marathon to Miami.

We've used them twice and they were excellent. Once on a cruise stop in KW for parasailing and another time while down there for a long weekend we did their 1/2 day adventure which was parasailing, jet skis, paddle boards, kayaks and water trampoline.

Too far to drive for just a 2 day stay. Also, IMO, Key Largo is better suited for tweens/teens than younger kids.

We went to Key Largo when my kids were 3, 9 & 11. They did NOT like it! The beach at our condo was rocky, lots of shells and only about 50 feet across - not fun AT ALL. There was nothing there for them to enjoy. They were too young to snorkel - which is the main draw in that area. We did go deep sea fishing one day that they enjoyed and rode down to Key West 1 day - but as for Key Largo - not a child's place IMO.

Do you live here? I do. I know the time and miles.
