Driving time from Disneyland to Orange County Airport?

Good morning. Tomorrow (Monday Jan 4th) we'll be driving from our rental house a few blocks southwest of Disneyland to John Wayne Airport with the goal of arriving at the Avis rental car return at 7:30 (two hours ahead of our 9:25 flight).

First, does returning the car 2 hours before our flight sound adequate? And how much time do you think we should a lot for the drive on a Monday morning around 7:00am? At 8:00am today/Sunday my phone says it's only an 18 minute drive

I've only returned a rental car once at John Wayne and it went very quickly, so I think 2 hours ahead is fine. We usually take a taxi to the airport and the drive is always about 20 minutes, but I've never gone that early in the morning. Not sure if there will be more traffic that time of day or not. Hopefully someone here will have some experience with early morning flights.

Two hours is PLENTY of time...rental car facility is right in the garage across from the terminal. Easy walk. Drive time is about 20 min.

More than enough time. It takes seconds to return a car, and we've never stood in a security line there longer than 5 minutes.
