Driving & Stopping overnight in Savannah, GA

First of all - is it reasonable to expect to be able to drive from SouthCentral PA (about an 1 1/2 hours west of Harrisburg) and get to Savannah, GA for the first day??? We are leaving next Thursday around 3AM and are hoping to get that far.

Also - Can anyone recommend any decent (clean & $$$) hotels in Savannah????

I think it's very reasonable. We have driven from Mass. twice and have made it to Pheasant Hill, GA (just south of Savannah) in 18 hours. Left Mass at 4:00AM and arrived at hotel around 10:00PM. 4 hour drive next day to DW.

We usually stay at the Hampton Inn. There are several on I95 around Savannah. They're very nice and have a free continental breakfast.
