Driving ourselves to MK for bkfast reservation?

We have a reservation to eat at the Crystal Palace 8am reservation. Has anyone made this traveling from Art of Animation Resort. About how long would it take to get from the resort to the entrance of the Magic Kingdom. Just trying to figure on what time we should leave to make the 8 am reservation. thanks for any help anyone can give me.

Are you driving yourself because you want to or because you don't think the buses will be running that early? You can get WDW bus transportation to your early morning AR. The buses start running around 7am or so for people with early breakfast reservations. Make sure you have your reservation number with you(in case the person at the front gate asks to see it--most will take your word for it).

I can't answer the question of what time you should leave because I always take the WDW buses everywhere.

would take the MK bus - it starts at 6:30am - but remember to get at the bus stop by at least 7am - this bus does not come as frequently as the regular MK bus - you can also ask at the front desk (assuming you get a good CM) - sometimes they have transportation.

I'm not sure that it would make sense for you to drive. MK is the one park that it almost always saves time to take the Disney bus. If you drive, you have to park in their parking lot and then take monorail or ferry to get there. Then on the way back, you also have to take the monorail to get back to the parking lot. The bus will drop you off and pick you up right in front of the park.

According to the transportation wizard on OLP, 35 minutes from AoA to MK via bus, 35 minutes if driving. It's longer to drive because you have to park at the TTC and take the monorail or a boat.
