and Im sure my husband as well. Our last trip we stayed at the Poly and loved it. This trip we are meeting up with my brother and his family. We debated staying at the Poly again, but since there will be 6 kids total and my brother has never stayed at Disney - we decided we would stay at the Boardwalk. It seems like there is more going on over there, so more to keep all the kids busy and also walking distance to 2 parks. Im just nervous I am going to regret not staying at the Poly again. Has anyone stayed at both? Thoughts?

I've never stayed at BWI, but have stayed at Poly and at BC. At least BC has mostly the same benefits as BWI, including access to the boardwalk area.

We definitely like Poly as a stand-alone resort better than BC, but BC was worth doing for us at least once (and probably in the future sometime) because of the walking/boating access to EPCOT and DHS, especially EPCOT. With a large group like yours, BWI is also less expensive than the Poly and you might have more at EPCOT and DHS to satisfy a big age range, where MK (IMO) is still geared more toward young children. While you'd probably want to stay at Poly again someday (we sure do) and might miss some things about it this trip, I don't think you'd regret trying a new place with its own special features. I, for one, much prefer riding a boat to a monorail, though I can't deny the resort monorail is a pretty easy way to get to MK from the Poly.

You can always go back to Poly when it's just your immediate family again.

I prefer BWV or BCV over the Poly. We have not stayed in the inn side of BC or BW but the DVC resorts are in the same location. Poly is a very nice resort but the convenience of walking right into WS at Epcot or over to DHS can't be beat :thumbsup2 When we stayed at Poly a few times the best room we had was one that was a short walk to the TTC for Epcot but it is still a lot more travel time than from the BW area

Both resorts are fine. *You* are the one who will make or break the vacation. If you go into the trip thinking you will not like the Boardwalk, then everyone won't like the Boardwalk. Relax - it's a Disney deluxe resort and you are on vacation with your family. If you start stressing out over something like where you are staying, the vacation will be doomed. Don't think about yourself - think about the kids and your brother and his first trip. And please don't start comparing the Polynesian to the Boardwalk or your brother will feel guilty.

It's a vacation, a time to relax and be with family, not worry about four walls and a ceiling.

We haven't stayed at Poly, but we are staying at BWI in May. My DH hates riding buses and wanted a resort where we could be close to the most parks. We also really like the vibe the Boardwalk gives off too. There is always fun stuff happening over there. We only have to bus to two parks! Jackpot!

We've never stayed at Poly. Although its a beautiful resort, I'm not all that enamored with the monorail.

We've stayed at both BWV and BCV. BCV is the winner for both my husband, my daughter, and myself. For kids, SAB will keep them occupied for hours. Just something to think about. We liked BW but we LOVED Beach Club.

The poly is so outrageously expensive I can hardly believe it. Boardwalk is still very pricey but is somewhere in the range of being somewhat reasonable. If cost is no object and laying out $4,000 for a week is no big deal- stay at the Poly. For 1/2 or 2/3 the price BWV is amazing

Have you considered the Beach Club? It too is an Epcot resort, next to the Boardwalk(well, a short walk, a couple minutes) I have stayed at Poly,BWI and Yacht Club(right next to Beach Club) Just thought that with 6 kids they would really enjoy Stormalong Bay more than the BWI pool. Just a thought.

Thank you for the replies. They actually made me feel a lot better about the decision. I had thought about the BC too....but when the kids saw the terrifying clown slide, they all decided they wanted to stay at BWI. Its a totally different type of trip this time, being with another family and especially considering they are 1st timers...so i guess I need to stop comparing it to our last trip. Thanks again!!!

You will love the Boardwalk. It is a truely magical place and you will not regret staying there.

Ummm... You mean they want the terrifying clown slide then, yes? Cause the clown slide is at The Boardwalk.

I've stayed at the Poly and @ the YC, which is across the water from the BW. You really can't beat the easy access to 2 parks of the Epcot/DHS resorts. Nothing is better than just walking out of Epcot after illuminations and to your room while the crowds head to the front.
Most people prefer storm along bay @ the YC/BC to the clown pool @ the BW, in fact I think this is the first time I've read of some one wanting the clown pool - but I don't follow the BW thread and maybe there's lots of people over there who love that pool.

How old are the kids? If you plan on spending a lot of time at the MK, you'll be taking the bus and the bus at the BW shares with the Swan and Dolphin and sometimes also with YC and BC. Unless you are driving to the MK.

But if you plan on a lot of time at Epcot and DHS, you'll be great.

Got to agree with this.... Our stays depend on where we will spend the most time... With children it's the MK, though as empty nesters we still enjoy the MK the most.....

Not high on the Polys rate nor the monorail but we like the MK area so the WL suits us fine...

As for the Y&B, prefer the Yacht Club over the Beach.... Never stayed at the BW....
