Driving in LA?

I need to get from Disneyland to Burbank on a Sunday morning and come back Sunday afternoon. I am thinking of renting a car. I am from Toronto so traffic isnt really a problem I am just wondering how people have felt about driving. Our other option is the train but it seems like the rental car would be an easier option. Any opinions would be appreciated.

Driving is far easier than a train. You will be fine traffic wise on Sunday morning but will probably run into some coming back Sunday afternoon. You literally just need to take one road up to Burbank (the 5) so it won't be complicated at all.

Driving in LA is easy. The freeway system in excellent and well designed.
Easy, sure. But the traffic, I’ve no doubt, is designed solely as a test of human endurance. When I moved here from Chicago, I thought “Wow, drivers are pretty crazy in Chicago. LA’s gotta be even worse. To my great surprise, they’re much more chill here than in Chicago.

If you can drive on the 401, you'll be just fine.

Drive it. It will be faster and more convenient.

Early is a good plan.

The first year I came to visit my friends insisted on driving me everywhere. And the one time they couldn't they set up a ridiculously complicated Supershuttle trip. They had me really scared for a bit.

I came, sat in the car and kept telling them: "This isn't much worse than rush hour in Frankfurt."

Been driving ever since. No one ever complained when they were riding with me.

Compared to Toronto it will be a breeze for you.

I'd drive in LA over Toronto (where OP is coming from) any day. Toronto is awful.

I drove basically every highway in the LA area when I was there in August and the only issue I had was not being able to merge one time. I just got off and adjusted my route. I have a trip in February now and I figure I will rent a car at least twice during the trip to get some more sightseeing in. If you have driven in any major city that has more than 3 highway systems that merge at any time, you should be good for driving.
