I don't think so - someone else posted that parts of I-95 are flooded out / impassible - I think 95 is fairly far from the coast (but I haven't looked at a map recently)

Inland won't help. Up here in NC, the inland part of the state (even to the mountains in the western part) is actually worse than the coast. My thoughts are with the OP and everyone being affected in SC. It looks horrible from footage I've seen.

Yes inland is worse! Secondary roads are terrible!

And it is getting worse. They just release water from the major dam in the area. Also the water from upper parts of the state are now heading towards us.

Just stay at WDW!

We are in Lexington, SC. My family is ok. We are on a hill and should be fine. Lower parts of our neighborhood are flooding.

Flooding is so scary! I'm in the coastal plain of NC, and while I'm fine where I am, our county is one that's under a coastal flood warning and flood watch...both of which last until late tomorrow. I'm a teacher, and we released early from school on Friday because we were already experiencing some minor flooding from the days (weeks?) of rain we've had. Now with the northeasterly wind (we're also under a wind advisory), the sounds, rivers, and creeks are due to flood over their banks. It's typical "hurricane" stuff for us, just without the hurricane (thank GOODNESS that monster went out to sea!)

The western part of the state though, with hills and mountains, is vulnerable to land/mudslides. They've had more rain than we have, and it's more dangerous out that way, IMO.

ANYONE who has to travel through SC or NC needs to be very mindful of what's going on (especially SC). Definitely stay with Mickey if you can! It'll take a couple more days for this mess to straighten out as the rain is still forecast until Tuesday AM. Rivers are rising, roads are closing, and it's just not safe.

They have issued civil emergencies throughout SC to stay off the roads. There is a 30-mile stretch of I95 that is closed, as well as a section of I20 in Columbia. Many rivers are reaching their peak so it is going to get worse before it gets better. If you must get home, your best bet is going to be through Atlanta and back up I85. I would stay put if possible.

I live in Charleston and it's really bad here, but like others have said, inland is actually worse! Stay safe everyone.

My friend's son is in the SC National Guard and they've been mobilized to help with all the problems with the flooding.

70 miles of I95 in SC is literally closed. Parts of Interstate 20 and 26 are also closed. I think the governor said there are 400 bridges or roads that are impassible. Don't know how fast this is going to go down, but from the stuff we're seeing on the news a lot of what is going to be uncovered is missing bridges and roads underneath!

We're in Columbia too. So scary. The detour is reaaaaally long to get around the 95 closure, can't even imagine how bad the traffic is

I-95 is still closed!
