Driving from VA to WDW

My husband and I are driving with our 2-yr old son for our first ever (and hopefully not our last) trip to WDW in Feb.

For anyone who has done this drive before, can you please let me know how many hours it took you to do the drive from VA to WDW? I read someone on these boards say that they did it in 11 hours. Is that typical?

Where in Virginia will you be starting? What route do you plan to take?

We drive from Maryland (Montgomery County) and it takes us about 14 hours. We hardly stop at all. In the past we've left early in the morning (oh-dark-thirty) and driven to around Jacksonville. We then finish the drive early the next morning. We probably could get all the way there, but then would need to rent a more expensive room than we can get in Jacksonville. Anyway, this is more information than you asked for...

I live in Stafford, VA and was planning on taking I-95. We would like to arrive at WDW at around 11 am.

My husband wants to drive through the night in order to avoid traffic but I'm not too sure about doing that.

My plan was to leave the house on a Thurs. at about 6 pm and stopping somewhere at about 12 am or 1 am.

In either case, what I'm trying to do is back track so that we can figure out what time to leave our house.

I am guessing that drive to WDW takes about 12 hours going at about 70 mph (without any stops), but I'd like to hear what people's experiences have been.

We live in Hopewell, which is just south of Richmond, and we typically get there in 11.5 hrs. Sometimes traffic is bad and that can add time.
