Driving from Pop Century

We've been to WDW many many times. During our first 10 trips, we stayed offsite so we drove to the theme parks. The last two trips, we stayed onsite at the CBR. Once we rode the Disney bus to the Magic Kingdom, I swore I would never drive to the Magic Kingdom again. It was so nice having the bus drop us off right near the park entrance.

Well, this year we are staying at Pop Century. Since we stayed at the CBR, we were used to there being many bus stops within the resort and actually liked it. I understand that at the Pop Centurt, there is one bus stop for the entire resort.

So.....this is my question......would it be easier to drive our vehicle to the theme parks than to take the Pop buses?

And, we will be traveling with another family who won't have a vehicle but they could ride in our vehicle to the parks if it's easier. If they do ride with us, our car will have four adults and three children. Since we are all Disney resort guests, they shouldn't charge us for the extra people in the car should they?

By the way, our car is a mid size car so it's gonna be pretty obvious that the car has lots of folks in it.

Just trying to figure out the best way to get to and from the theme parks.

Thanks in advance!

We just spent a week at Pop. It was very easy getting too and from the parks for US, but we didn't try to go at peak travel times.

We always took the early bus, not the one 1/2 hour before park opening, and we didn't leave at park closing with everyone else. We never had to stand, never had long waits, only once had a full bus which was shared with a water park (it was closing time for them).

If you are planning to travel at the same time as everyone else, I'd drive. If your able to go a little ahead or after the peak travel times, take the bus.

We are staying at Pop in December. First I will tell you that Parking will be free in the parks because you are resort guest it wont matter who is in the car, but for safety reasons you might want to double check your situation.
We are taking a car as well, but plan on using the buses on some days. If we are dining at another resort before or after the park we are going to drive. If we are just going to the one park for the day we will be using the bus. We did a value resort on our last trip and used the buses the whole time. We didnt have any ridiculous waits except for mk after wishes then we waited about 30 mminutes for a bus.

We just got back a few days ago from Pop and found the bus system to be great. We rarely had a wait, and when we did, it was usually no more than 15minutes for a bus to arrive. We've have also stayed at CBR a few times and actually like the one stop at Pop a lot better than the many stops at CBR. I was expecting major lines for the buses, but lines were not bad at all last week.

So glad to hear some reassurance from someone who has stayed at both the CBR and Pop.

I'm not a bus fan, but the ones at Pop were fine. You just need to build the time into your schedule. Having the busses in a central location is convenient for most rooms, and it's very fair because the busses only pick up from one set of waiting guests.

What we sometimes like to do is take the bus in the morning, take the bus back in the afternoon, and then take our car in the evening. We've done both and it is often faster to have your own car, even from the MK and even with all of the other cars leaving at the same time.

we stayed at pop last summer

the buses were sooo nice there was hardly a wait and you don't have to share with another resort :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I would with out a doubt take disney and with gas :scared1: :scared1:

Yes - no matter what you ultimately decide (and having done it both ways, and commuting to and from Boston every day :)) I recommend the bus to Magic Kingdom.
