I am planning a trip to WDW for our family, 2 adults and 3 children. After comparing ticket prices, I am considering purchasing AP's for the family. We live in Statesville, NC. I-77 and I-40 cross right in the middle of Statesville. About how much driving time am I looking at? I have tried several internet maps, but get a wide range of travel times. I am thinking that if it is only 8-9 hours, we may be able to get our money's worth out of the passes over some long weekends. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Don't know specificaly from statesville, but we are in Clayton (about 25 min from I-95 and we make it in 9 - 10 hours, depending on how many stops. We get the AP's and go twice a year on them (sometimes 3 times) and usually make our money on the passes after the first trip with the room, dining and merchandise discounts. Everything else is gravy after that. Only drawback is that sometimes you have to be flexible with dates and resorts if you want the room discounts, but it's never been a problem.

Using information from our last 4 drives (from just outside W-S):

from Statesville, you are almost 585 miles from WDW, taking the 77-26-95-I4 route. Staying within 10 mph of the speed limit, and avoiding any major traffic delays or slowdowns in Charlotte, Jacksonville, and Orlando, an estimated best time (fast food meals and 1 gas stop) is 8 hours. Realistically, I would expect the trip to take 8:45 - 9:00 hours.

Hope that helps.
