Driving from Nashville question

We are driving from Nashville down to WDW. I'm debating on taking the toll roads down or going a little out of the way and taking I-75 down to I-4 and cutting across that way.

I'm not sure how much the tolls would cost versus the extra gas. Thoughts?

The cash toll on Florida's Turnpike between I-75 (south of Ocala) and I-4 (north of WDW) is a total of $3.75.

Or if you take Florida's Turnpike from I-75 and then the Western Beltway to the Walt Disney World / Hartzog Road exit, the total is $4.00.

If you take I-75 all the way to I-4, and then take I-4 to WDW, it will add around 65 miles to your trip. That means an additional hour of driving, and, depending on your car's gas mileage, an additional $8 to $12 in gasoline, and additional wear on your car.

Thank you so much!! Toll roads it is! I appreciate the help so much. Just another thing to stop worrying about lol!

Western Beltway opened a few years ago and is the most direct route to most of Disney. You also avoid Universal/Sea World/city traffic on I-4.

You do need to be very careful when you get off the Hartzog Rd. exit. There are often cops on the beginnings of Disney property giving speeding tickets. I think the speed limit is 35--very low for the road in order to set up a surprise speed trap. Once you get near the All Stars Resort and Coronado Springs the limit increases and there are no speed traps.
