Driving from MCO question.

We will be renting a car and I know I always drove down I4 to Disney. I know there was talk about putting in a special toll road to shorten the trip to Disney and I think it was done. I would prefer not to pay a toll (well, unless it gets me there in half the time or less) and wanted to ask the experts here about my options.

To the best of my knowledge the only "quick" way to get from MCO to Disney is either via 417 (toll) or 528(toll) to I 4. I am sure my customers would love to hear about a shorter quicker way. Sooooo, if any of the posters from the Orlando know of anything else, please inform.

Are you saying that the only way to get from MCO to I4 is on a toll road? Really? How much is the toll, anyway?

I would not mind being on a few local roads for a bit especially if there is a CVS nearby because I need to stop at CVS en route to the hotel.

The tolls on 417 are $2.50 each way, you would exit 417 at exit 6 ( rt 536) and follow directly into WDW. There is a CVS on 536 shortly after you exit on the left.
The tolls on the 528 to I-4 route might be $.50 less,but traffic could be heavier at different times of day.
Travel time from MCO to WDW via 417 is approx 25 minutes.

You could visit the store right after exiting the airport and then hop on SR 528 (The Beachline) going west. If your arrival is during rush hour, the toll roads could be a timesaver.

Take 417, and pay the $2.50. It's worth it to avoid I-4, which can be very unpredictable.

Yes, that is what I am saying unless you want to do a mapquest route and go local and hit a kajillion lights and go way out of your way. Probably spend more in gas than you would on tolls and waste a whole lot of time.

If I do this, can I make a left into CVS or is it a situation where I'm going to have to pass it and do a U-turn or something like that? Thanks so much for the information.

You'll be able to turn left into the CVS.
When you exit 417 (Exit 6) just before the 2nd traffic light you'll see the CVS on your left. Just be careful, you'll be crossing 3 lanes of traffic.
