I will be Driving to WDW next Feb from Freddy Beach . I have made this trip several times before but allwase single this will be my first trip in 10 years and first trip with a car full ( DW DD 4 DML Me ) I am planing a 3 day 2 night trip .
I have 3 questions
(1)How much for gas ( My last trip gas was around $1 a Gallon )
(2)What route ( Last time 95/84/81/64/95 less than $5 in tolls )
(3)Where to stop for the night ( I used to stay around Richmond VA (19 hrs) )

Wow, you're braver than I am... a full car and 3days/2 nights driving? But it IS to get to Disney...

Can't help with the route. I just go on the principle that I don't want to be around a city near rush hour, so plan route based on that rather than tolls. One thing, now most of the tolls can be paid with an electronic thingie mounted on your car and subscribed to, called (I think) One-pass... that means you can't get into any lanes that say One-pass (or the equivalent local name) Only at tolls.

Here's a link to the AAA site that tracks gas prices. Click on areas you're passing through to get an idea what gas is going for now.

Happy trails!

Good luck on your drive :goodvibes I love driving down from Halifax. It is part of the excitment of the trip (and we have 2 (now 3) kids). Last time we drove was 3 years ago and had a Saturn. Back then we did it in 2 nights/3 days... used priceline for hotels and brought alot of our own snacks (plug in cooler) :teeth: . The total including gas/hotel/food was $750.00 return. We stop in Boston the first night and somewhere around Rocky Mount, NC the second (really LONG 2nd day  ). We drove the 95 straight down (except of course around the big cities). We used to live in Washington DC and traffic there can be nuts so be careful and time that city right or you will be sitting in traffic for awhile. Have a great trip!!

I'm driving down for first time from Halifax with my son. I've been told by people to avoid the I95 Boston/Washington corridor. Any tips on what routes to take to make it down with little stress?
