I've looked at Maps and done MapQuest, but I'm still unsure what the best route is to WDW. Should I just stay on I-drive and take it down to WDW? Or use an alternate route? Do you have any suggestions to help us save some time? Thanks in advance.

In addition to getting on I-4 and fighting the traffic I can think of three alternatives.
1 - Go right out of the Cypress Harbour drive onto Westwood Blvd and following to Central Florida Pkwy. Turn left onto CF Pkwy and then left on Palm Parkway where CFP ends. At the end of Palm Pkwy, turn left, get into the right most lane and turn right onto Hotel Plaza Blvd. You'll go past Downtown Disney and then just follow the signs to wherever you're heading.
2- Go left out of Cypress Harbour and following Westwood to I-Drive, turn right and continue to the traffic light by the Walgreens and Publix stores. Turn right and continue on Vineland (Vineland can be very busy with traffic) to SR 535. Either right toward Downtown Disney entrance or left to SR 536 which becomes Epcot Center Drive.
3- Also go to I-Drive and turn right and follow to the intersection with SR 535 just after the Caribe Royale hotel. Go straight onto SR 536 which becomes Epcot Center Drive and just follow the signs. This is route that I prefer from Cypress Harbour or its sister resort, Grande Vista, because there are only a few traffic lights and the traffic is much lighter.

Thank you so much Dick! I'll take those with me and try those routes. :)

agree with Dick completely!!!

that say - I4 can much shorter - 5 to 10 minutes.

the ID - 536 - can be as long as 15 to 20 minutes.

but after one or two times stuck on I4 for over an hour sometimes 2 hours - you might enjoy ID - 536 too.

We've taken I4 and I Drive.I like the I Drive way better, DH likes I4 for being quicker.

Based on our experience, Detailor's alternative #3 it the best way to get to any and all areas of WDW...Ofcourse that's JMHO:cool2:

Assuming it's not Christmas week (with traffic backed up to Sand Lake Rd., aaaargh!), the stretch of I-4 you have to drive is generally not that bad traffic-wise, and is a lot faster and easier than the surface street routes mentioned. Coming back is even easier, you will be back at Cyprus Harbor within 90 seconds of leaving exit 71, just two right turns.

One tip, tho, always take the "Epcot" exit (it will be the second one), no matter where in Disney you are going. You can get to any of the theme parks this way, just follow the signs, and it is generally quicker than staying on I-4 the whole way.

Also, re: option 2, Vineland is under construction, making it even more of a mess than usual. If you do want to take I-Drive the whole way, I would go all the way down to 536.
