Well I'm not sure if you've driven it or not before so here goes. I'd get the book ''Along I75" by Dave Hunter. It gives you a ton of info like places to eat, stay, shop etc. the map you follow is laid out page by page with everything thats in the next 25 miles. Once you past those 25m turn page and see the next 25 miles. Really cool and fun to follow. As far as places to stay. Pretty much any chain hotel will do for a nights sleep. There's as many hotels off I75 than there are Tim Hortons*L* No need to book ahead, just drive till you can't then pull into the nearest hotel. These hotels are literally right off the Interstate( about 1 km)so no driving into unfamiliar territory. Entering each state the next rest stop will have hotel discount coupon books free on a rack. You can get some good deal in them. Hope this helps
PS - we like a place in Berea Ky called Holiday Motel. It's right off exit ramp and has a Cracker Barrel in the parking lot
