Driving from CT in Feb.

Has anyone driven from the east during the winter months. We have never done this. Usually we drive in Oct. or May, but never Feb. I am worried, my DH says "no problem" I am nervous about ice in NC and SC. Just wondering if anyone else has done this.
With the price of flying now, this seems to be our only option (going over FEB break)

Hi, I am from CT and going in February also. I found really good airfare out of NYC for $99 each way from Jetblue. I am not sure how many of you are going but it is just DH and I and we would spend more than $400 on gas roundtrip if we drove. You might want to consider it if you are afraid of driving in the ice.
