Driving from Atlanta area

We are actually from PA but we will be stopping to visit Stone Mountain, outside of Atlanta, on our way down. Are there any toll roads I need to be aware from Atlanta to Orlando? Also, are there any roads around Atlanta we should be avoiding because of construction? We will be leaving the Atlanta area on Saturday, June 18th, hopefully by 7:00am to drive to Disney.

Driving from Atlanta to WDW you'll most likely turn onto the Florida Turnpike off of I-75 in the Ocala area. This is a toll road.

As OKW said, you will most likely take the Florida Turnpike which is a toll road, if I remember correctly I think I spent about $4 one way last trip. It can be avoided but you are adding a lot of extra time to the trip if you do so. As far as construction in and around Atlanta, I've lived in Georgia on and off my entire life and both of my parents were from here. My Daddy even worked for the State Highway Department and the running joke in our family is the day I75 doesn't have construction on it is the day the world has ended. I live about 45 min. north of Atlanta in Athens so we avoid it all together by going down 441 then getting on I75 in Macon (where there is still construction going on).

I agree with the assessment of I75. They are always working on it.

We grab I75 at Tifton, well south of Atlanta. But we are coming from Alabama.

You should be fine leaving on a Saturday that early! We've always done that and, though you might hit pockets of traffic or construction here or there, it's never that bad unless you are unfortunate enough to be stopped behind an accident.
