I'm in GA right now and gas prices have gone from $3.45 to $4.99 per gallon. This could put a huge damper on driving the FL. Is this the same elsewhere or is this just an anomoly for this area? I haven't seen on the news that prices were this high anywhere else.

Due to Hurricane Ike we are seeing gas prices on the rise in north Florida.

Last night when I topped off my tank gas was 3.76, at noon today the price at same station was 3.80 and at 5 it was 3.90.

If you are asking for prices anywhere in the US, the station we use here in NJ was priced at $3.25 per gallon today, it has been that same price for the past week.

We are in southwestern Ontario (Canada) and the gas prices went up about $0.15 per litre overnight last night. Our gas price this morning is $1.366 per litre!!! This equivilant to $5.16 per gallon Crazy, crazy, crazy

No price increase here in central PA. In fact, we went down a few pennies to $3.39. I'm sure after the storm passes you'll see the price drop again.

Our gas in Ohio went up 18 cents today
was 3.61 now 3.79 . barrels just dropped today too.. go figure. I hope it is only temprorary because of the hurricanes.

Wow, ya...$4.99 is crazy.

Down here in central FL (Tampa) prices vary from around $3.60 to $3.95/gallon for regular.

There is a wide variation in our area depending on location. But we hvae never really broken the $4.00 line.

There is 2 gas stations that are now at $5.15 per gallon.

That stinks! We are still at $3.36 here and have been for a few days. From what they're saying though....price increases are'nt due to the per barrel cost. But due to the problems with the refineries having to shut down due to the hurricane. No matter what....deffinately not a good situation for anyone!

When we left for vacation early Aug- gas prices here (Texas) were in the range of 3.80 something to over $4 a gallon.
When we returned Sept 1st- gas prices here had dropped to 3.42
Yesterday our "cheapest" gas station was 3.45... and now today I noticed it went up to 3.98.
that's over .50 in one day- so it's pretty scary.

I filled up today at $3.56 and noticed across town it was $3.99! I hear locally we'll see it a $5 soon!

Does your state have an anti gouging law. In the State of Maryland they tried raising prices like when Katrina hit. The State of Maryland came down on the gas stations and issued fines.

We live in the Florida panhandle and the price this morning was at $3.64. Just drove by the same station this afternoon and the price is now at $3.99.

All of the gas stations out here had crazy lines this afternoon and many had run out of gas. A lot of panic buying going on.

Here in Eastern NC the gas prices are $3.99 to the highest $4.49. Just yesterday I filled up and paid $3.57. I've also heard that it could get to the $5 mark before the weekend is over . We were thinking of driving up to Norfolk to see the Magic in dry dock which is about a 2 hour drive for us one way but I think we're going to wait and maybe go next weekend and see if the prices go down !!

I don't know if Texas does, but if so I've never heard about it.
I wish they did in every state. I heard they did something about taxes at hotels- but what about everyone trying to evacuate and these high gas prices?

Yes, but in GA, it isn't in effect until a national (or state) disaster is declared. In SC, they are already investigating, but don't promise anything. The latest word is that this is really the law of suppy and demand. Since about 30-40% of the gas stations are out, the ones that have it can raise the price. Not fair, but what can you do?

Here in Oregon we are at $3.77 a gallon the cheapest gas in months. We stayed over $4.00 most of the spring and summer.

Just paid $3.53 a gallon here (just outside of Pittsburgh, PA) - the
cheapest it's been for a long time!

The governor of Alabama had to declare a state of emergency to stop all the price gouging going on here. It went from around $3.49 to $4.09 at my favorite station within a matter of a few hours yesterday. Some places were reported at $4.99 by the time I left work. Of course everyone panicked and pulled out all the gas cans so they could hoard as much as they could. There were lines at least an hour long in some places. The people who actually NEEDED to fill up were stuck behind people like Bubba and his toothless wife who thought that gas was never going to be available again.

My grandson and his mom and her family are driving down later this week (Wednedsay). I hope they don't run into gas stations being out but I just passed several in my area --including Costco--that are out of regular.
