We have a 2002 Dodge 2500 diesel 4x4 - we are comparing the drive down from CT to WDW to other means of getting there.

Has anyone made the trip with a similar truck? I am concerned about things like: availablility of diesel, roads that trucks aren't allowed on (we have a couple main highways here in the state that trucks can't go on because of the weight with bridges) et cetera.

Hi, We've made the trip many times with similar trucks. We hit I-95 around DC, so cant speak for above that area. No problems with roads , and no prob with diesal (but don"t wait till "E", not EVERY exit has diesal. I fill up at or around exit 104 in VA, 164 in SC and Exit 3 in GA ( fuel gets expensive in FL). We had an 89 Dodge 350, 95 Dodge 2500 and now a 99 Ford Super duty. No problems with fuel.

We drove a Ford F350 4x4 towing a 32Ft TT from Houston and had no trouble. Except maybe the cost of diesel outpriced the cost of Reg. Unleaded and we only got about 8 miles to the gallon. :) BUT ....... boy it was worth it. Fort Wilderness was the BEST. We had no trouble parking or getting around, we drive to parks everyday.

I agree with hobogary, don't wait til "E" to fill up !

Have fun !!!!
