I have heard of that route. I was told that route adds 1.5-2 hours more to the drive. Hope someone from DIS can share some insight regarding that route.
We've taken the inland route from CT at least 4 times. Except for once when there was an accident in the mountains- it's taken us about 19.5-20 hours. The one time we went down 95 it took 23 I think. I really like the inland route. It's sooo much less stressful.
