any one know of a new exit off the florida turnpike? i heard its #429 and comes out close to the all stars. has anyone used it yet? does it cut off much time from going turnpike to I-4 to WDW?
thanks,
mikewdw

429 is the road name, not the exit # (just to clarify). I am so glad that it is finally completed, it has become my new Route of choice to get just about everywhere... I LOVE it. It comes out right next to Coronado Springs and really saves us a lot of time getting around town. There is hardly any traffic on it and it is a 65 or 70 mph most of the way, so just in the basic conjestion that can occur on I-4 it is worth it to me... You are looking for 429 - The Western Way (not sure what exit # it is off the turnpike).

We used the new exit in November 06 and I would give it a :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 .

According to my hastily written notes, going to WDW you exit the turnpike at 267A. I think there was some indication that it was that exit. From there it is about 13 miles to the western entrance to WDW. We were traveling it on a Sunday and it was great. I thought it made a big difference.

As you leave WDW, get on Buena Vista Drive, just past Coronado Springs Resort, turn right onto Western Way. After you pass under the "See Ya Real Soon" sign, get on 429 North. In 13 miles you will get to the Turnpike.

It is Exit 267 from the Turnpike. It is State Route 429. Head South to Exit 8 and follow the signs. The entry road terminates on Buena Vista Drive between the Coronado Springs Resort and Blizzard Beach.

Once you get to the end, for All Stars or Animal Kindom (Park or Lodge) or Blizzard Beach turn right. For everything else on property turn left.

It saves a lot of miles and completely bypasses I-4. It has very little trqaffic. Incidentally, you completely miss any indications of Universal or Sea World.

ches,
how much time do you think this will save?
thanks so much for the help.

Depends a lot on both day of week and time of day. But probably an hour.

We've used it twice on the way in, once to the Pop, once to 192. Both times it's so painless compared to fighting I-4. Not sure it saves an hour, but it saves a good half hour to 40 minutes, IMO.

If you're coming south on the Turnpike, this is the ONLY way to go. Well worth the $1 toll each way. (I think it's a $1, could be wrong.)

Yep, we used it too! We thought we had the wrong exit since there was hardly any traffic! We are going again in a few days and will definately take it :thumbsup2

We used it last week, and even if it didn't save any time (which it did) it was TOTALLY worth it to get away from all the traffic on the turnpike. We had a nice relaxing drive as we made our way to WDW property...
