Does anybody have good driving directions from Melbourne Airport to Disney? Any idea how long a drive it is? Any restaurants along the way? Thanks.

From Melbourne to Disney World or to Vero?

I don't know exact directions to WDW but basically you want to get on I-95 and the Beeline. The drive is pretty desolate especially on the cross-trip so I would grab a bit before leaving Melbourne or wait until you hit Orlando. My guess on time would be between and hour and a hour and a half.

If you are going to WDW Here are some basic directions:
Exit the Airport.
Turn Right on Nasa Blvd. Head (West)
Make Right on Wickham Road aka 509 (North)
Left on Sarno Rd then another left onto Eau Gallie Blvd.(W)
You will come to I-95 Take it North. Around 20 miles.
You will then take the SR528 Beeline Expressway exit Westbound.
for about 25 miles.(tollroad)
Take the SR417 South "Tampa" exit you will merge onto 417 aka as the Greenway belt.(toll road) for an est 20 miles. Follow signs to WDW. Depending on where you are headed, You can take exit 3 or 6.
This route usually takes about 1:20-1:30.

After you get on I-95 North at the next exit up is a Cracker Barrel,Burger King,McDonalds. If you want some thing right off the plane, e-mail or PM I will give you directions/suggestions to some local places in Melbourne. If you are headed to VB there are a few ways to suggest from the Melbourne Airport.

Isn't there another direct route across a rather uninhabited part of Florida, thru Kissimmee. My brother is in Palm Bay and thats the way we go to his house from WDW. Maybe the airport is closer to the Beeline?

Hi I'm rather familiar with the Melbourne Airport. ;)

Madcoco has some good directions. If you have any specific questions about the Airport please feel free to PM me. And thank you for using MLB. :D You can also check out the webiste www.mlbair.com

P.S. I am not comfortable using 192 to the Osceola Parkway. It's two laned most of the way and I think there is some "destruction" going on as they are trying to four-lane it.

Hi! I lived in the Melbourne/Palm Bay area for about 16 years.

The way you are thinking kkozma is actually my preferred method of travel, only because I do not feel I have really gone out of my way and backtracked. To take 192 to the WDW area from the Melb. airport you would need to:

- turn right out of the airport onto Nasa Blvd.
- turn left onto Evans Rd.
- turn right onto 192 (also called New Haven in this area)
- at this point you may want to stop for some food before leaving the Melb. area
- stay on 192, it is largely a 2 lane highway, and the posted speed is only 55MPH, warning, most drivers drive faster than the posted limit
- you will eventually come across St. Cloud and finally into
Kissimmee
- if you did not stop earlier you can stop at any point now for food
- turn right onto 535
- turn left onto Hotel Park Blvd (Large WDW sign, you can't miss it)
- follow the rd signs to your specific resort

dvc guy,
Right now just Delta and Delta's wholly owned subsidiaries Atlantic Southeast Airlines and Comair service Melbourne. You can check out the Airport's website www.mlbair.com which has the airline schedule and rental car agencies (in case you were wondering about that as well).
