Driving directions..MCO to Poly?

Ok, I took the plunge and rented a car for our quick weekend trip in May. We normally use a town car service but decided after reading lots of great posts here that it would be easier to try on a quick trip to see how we like driving as opposed to riding.

Now I am trying to figure out where to get a good map or driving directions to take us from the MCO (Avis rental) to the Poly. I called my AAA office to see if they could give us something but they said they can only do from MCO to LBV, plus some local (big) maps.

Do you guys just *know* how to get where you are going, do you buy specialized *WDW* maps or do you use something like Mapquest to get the driving directions?

From Airport........follow 417 South(red signs)(Florida Greenway) follow to WDW.

We always do the south exit to 417. Go through 2 tollbooths ($1 each), get off at exit 6, International Drive. Go straight, that takes you to 536 (Epcot Center Drive). After you pass through the Disney Arch, get off at the next exit, Downtown Disney. Follow signs to Polynesian.

HUH? The Polynesian is 10 miles from OKW. What the heck are you talking about? Or are you thinking CBR?

We always do as Nick described but go to the next exit. I think the one he described is #6 and the one for the most direct route to the Poly is #3. You do have to pay one more toll. It's either .25 or .50? The key is to follow signs directing you to the MK. When you are nearing the parking booths for the MK head for one on the right hand side....this is important!!! The attendant will direct you to follow a road that goes straight North from the right hand booths instead of sweeping left with the rest of the folks parking for MK. You follow that road until you come to a stoplight. Take a left there and the Polynesian is down just a little bit after the kennel and the TTC. You take a right into the Poly and you're in paradise. Have fun!

BTW when you pick up your car at Avis you'll get a map that will help you.

I feel really dumb now, but I got my updated confirmation with from the CRO today with my Poly info and, viola, on the back it says in capital letters "DIRECTIONS TO SELECTED RESORT"

DUH!

The directions say to take the South Airport Exit to FL 417 South to Osceola Parkway West, once on that follow the signs to MK, Epcot & Disney/MGM Studios & turn right on Victory Way. Follow to Buena Vista Drive & follow signs for the MK (World Drive). Go thru the MK plaza, go to the far right lane & follow the Green line straight. Turn left at the next traffic light onto Seven Seas Drive and the resort is on the right.

Does this sound like it the best way to go?

That sounds right to me. Osceola Parkway is exit 3 from 417. Exit 6 works better for the Downtown Disney & Epcot Resorts.

FWIW, we just rented a car for the first time this past week. We have always used a car service. I was a little uncertain about the process, but it was great. Took the Greenway south to 536, then used the confirmation sheet for the specific resort, in our case WL. The directions were very easy to follow and we had no problems going either way.
