Driving directions from BC to IOA?

Hi!
This will be our first time driving in Orlando. What would be the best (fastest) way to drive from Beach Club to Islands of Adventure?

Should we bring our gps (we have a TomTom)?

I drove from Royal Pacific Resort which is right near IOA to DHS a month ago. I did use my Garmin.

I believe I went to I-4 using the Garmin and followed the signs. It was easy and only took me 20 minutes or so. There was no traffic when we went but it was about 10am so not rush hour.

We are going just for the day on Wednesday and want to be there by 8am (I hope this is enough time to park and walk to the gate before it opens) so morning traffic is an issue.

That time of morning I would suspect traffic to be heavy, I would leave BC no later than 6:45am worst thing that could happen is you might be early.
Total trip is only 12.5 miles from the BC entrance.
Take I-4 east toward Orlando to exit 75A, turn left at bottom of ramp and follow signs into parking garage. You shouldn't need your GPS.
