I read your title and thought, why would anyone want to drive backwards from Georgia to WDW!! Then of course, I re-read it and realized what you actually wrote.
I think I need some sleep!
I hope you get your answer!
US 27 from west of Disney world, to US 301 up above Jacksonville. We've done this when we stopped in Ocala, except we used I 75 and the FL Tpk where we could.

Here's a partial answer. Last February (Saturday, Presidents' day Weekend) we wanted to avoid the Daytona 500 traffic, so we cut west at Jacksonville and came down US 301 until we could get I-75 and the Turnpike. Nice ride, and we got into WDW at EXACTLY the same time we had arrived in previous years via I-95 and I-4, with a lot less stress. On the side roads there were big signs warning of speed traps in upcoming small towns. Nice, but speed changes on US-301 are to be expected. Coming back, same route, less expected were the "20 MPH during school hours" signs. We were on vacation and did not consider that schools would be open when we were driving through small towns. No, nothing happened, but you have to be extra alert on these "back" roads. They go through real communities.
Thanks! I'd wondered if 27 to 301 would be a good route. We don't mind the speed changes and it will be more scenic. I think I'll drive "forewards" though!
lol, I read the title of your thread quickly and thought it said "driving backwards from WDW to GA" I was thinking, "why would they want to drive backwords?" My eyes must be going lol
