We are arriving on Dec22 and will be staying at Coronado Springs. We have a dinner reservation at O'Hana at the Polynesian and was wondering if we should drive or take Disney transportation. I know that at other times of the year people recommend driving from resort to resort but I am concerned about congestion at Christmas time. I have also heard about a 3 hr limit to parking at resorts. Any advice?

I drive everywhere when at the parks. I can't stand the bus lines and since I am handicapped and don't use a chair or scooter the bus when it is packed is not fun for me. Standing on a moving bus is difficult.
You can go to Poly for dinner and park at their lot but they really don't have room during the holidays for you to stay and go to the parks after. They give you a pass good for 3 hours to keep on your window. I have however, never heard of anyone getting towed and they certainly won't be standing near your car when you drive away waiting to lecture you. It is up to you whether you will feel guilt or not.
You can park at TTC, take the tram to the monorail and take it around the loop, which means you have to go through Contemporary, WDW and GF before getting to Poly. Or you can walk from TTC over to Poly after getting off the Tram. The walk is nice and I prefer this rather than the monorail.
I also prefer to take my car to the parks every day. I can leave when I want, and I like to run off property for some meals and to shop at the outlets. We don't have a Chick-fil-A here in CT and I love their fruit and grilled salad.

Thanks. Any idea how long it takes to drive to the Polynesian from Coronado? How long does it take on the Disney bus from Coronado to the Polynesian?

I would just take the bus to MK and the resort monorail to the Poly, but I don't have problems taking the bus.If you have problems where you can't stand for long then driving may be the better option.
