Drivers license doesn't match name on flight ticket HELP

When I booked our flight through Orbitz I had typed my husband's name exactly as it was on his license (James D. Van). When I print up our e tickets his middle initial isn't coming up??? Mine does but his doesn't. So his flight ticket doesn't match his license exactly. Do you think we are going to have a problem with this at the airport?? Thanks for your help!!

I don't think it should be a big issue. Two years ago, I had a ticket that combined my first and middle name together (KirstenMarie instead of Kirsten Marie). I was really concerned it would be an issue, but the TSA guy didn't even say a word about it.

when I booked our flights through Delta a few days ago, there was a place to put first and last names ONLY on the passenger list. Then further down the page was a separate place to put more detailed info including middle initial. I believe this is the info they would look at if there would be any questions as to identity. You may want to call the airline just to make sure prior to getting to the airport. It would be better to resolve the issue now instead of later. Good luck!

That happened to DS18 his last flight to Dallas. His Aunt misspelled his first and last name on his ticket. He got through without any problem.

My DL has my middle name on it...I don't use my middle name when I book flights...never had any issues.

I would call orbtiz and tell them to change the name tsa will give him a hard time because every pasanges name must be ran through the no fly list 48hr befor a flight in some cases you might be able to have the airlines change it for you but they are most likely to tell you to call orbits seeing that they book your fight for you...

I just flew yesterday. My license has Debra A, my ticket had Debra Ann. Not a word was said.

The past 3 times I've flown my boarding pass didn't have my middle initial on it, while my license did. Never had any trouble. I put my middle initial when I make the reservation & it's listed as being my preferred name on my Airtran account, but it never shows. I'm not too worried about it.
